TREINEL LIGADO
I have been studying capoeira for over ten years. In 2019 my Mestre Roberval made me a treinel, an official teacher of his style.
For me capoeira is an amazing art form for self expression and connecting with others. In my mind these are essential elements in life for greater happiness, and cultivating strong and thriving communities.
I was introduced to Mestre Roberval through my teachers in the UK, Mestra Brisa and Contra Mestre Figura. I immediately fell in love with his unique blend of style, elegance and playfulness, both in his movement and music.
As a teacher I love to create a fun and energetic environment that is relaxed and engaging for students of all levels and experience. .
we are a class to come and learn about capoeira, but above all we are a community. capoeira requires all of us to come together, share, create and learn. the history of capoeira is one resistance, a legacy we honour, and something we can all draw upon in these times. our group is pro lgbtq+, pro immigrant, pro diversity, pro workers, pro equality for all. we regularly host music classes at our house, go for drinks, go on trips and more. We are also part of a greater capoeira community in brighton, falmouth, london, the uk, europe and across the world, of corse to the homeland in brazil. we visit rodas, the circle where we play capoeira, discuss important topics, share views, food, laughter and sweat, a lot!
